[chap two] | [all chapters here]
Summary | You propose a crazy idea to the resident freak of Hawkins, Eddie Munson. But maybe he was even crazier for agreeing to it…

Author's Note | Was I the only one who turned 18 a month into their senior year and then proceeded to spiral and become The Worst version of themself possible?? Well, this fic is semi-inspired by that shitty part of my life lmao. Reader figure skates though. I can’t figure skate, hurts my feet lol. I never expected to write a fake dating story, but Eddie Munson has had me bewitched for nearly 2 years now, so here we go.

Chapter One
The idea came to you during a student council meeting as the class president was droning on about the ‘85 homecoming preparations: you needed to do something crazy, something completely and utterly out of character.
Maybe it was because of your ex breaking up with you just weeks before school started. Maybe it was that senior year itch. Maybe it was the realization that you were turning 18 next week. Hell, maybe you just woke up that morning with a strong sense that the things in your life were no longer satisfying you.
Whatever the cause, since the start of your senior year, you’ve just felt so off.
Your ex, Duncan, breaking up with you right before school started was a low blow, and an absolutely shitty feeling - you didn’t date much, but when you did, it was never the guy that ended things. It wasn’t shitty because you were in love and oh so heartbreak, it wasn’t shitty because you saw a future with him. It was shitty because of how goddamn embarrassing it was.
To your peers, you were a couple that made sense, and in fact people had been urging you to go out for a while. And, obviously, you had grown to like him, considering that you were in a relationship for six months - you never would have put up with him for that long if you didn’t actually like him. But the fact that he broke up with you, and not the other way around, left a sour, spiteful taste in your mouth.
So, perhaps it was that break-up that made you feel different this entire month. Or maybe it was your impending 18th birthday, which made you realize just how close you were to legal adulthood. Whatever the cause, every single aspect of your life up to this point suddenly came under your deep scrutiny. You just weren’t… happy?
That made it sound bad, but what were you enjoying right now? What got you excited every day? As you sat in the student council meeting, zoning out since the very start, you came to think that maybe you had nothing going on right now that you genuinely wanted in your life.
Hell, you weren’t even on the student council because you enjoyed it, Janet just dragged you into it back in your sophomore year. You figured she loved the sense of importance it gave her. She and everyone else in the council probably got off on how important they felt, the dictators of Hawkins High School.
You always ran in this crowd, and before you never questioned it. The popular kids, the rich kids, the successful kids. You don’t remember ever choosing these friends and acquaintances - if anything, it seemed that these peers were all a constant, as if they’d always been there from the very start. You figured it was the natural state of the world - as the daughter of one of the richest men in town, you were predestined to end up here. Not here as in the student council, surrounded by other spoiled rich kids debating the difference between turquoise and cyan. But here in an even broader sense - in a finely curated life, in all the “right” circles, on the path to either greatness or becoming the trophy wife of greatness.
Up until now, you’d never questioned it. Yes, mom and dad, you were a popular kid whose free time was fully booked between college prep, figure skating, student council, dates with a cookie-cutter boyfriend, and everything else under the sun. Yes, mom and dad, you were doing everything they all told you too because it would look great on your college applications, because that’s what you’re supposed to do, because that’s how things have always been done.
It started to dawn on you maybe a week or so into the school year just how mundane you were - you never questioned your time spent skating or on extracurriculars, you never went against the order of things as dictated by only the most popular of your peers. That’s just what was done, what was always done. But after your ex dared to break up with you, you came to realize recently that maybe all of this wasn’t what you wanted - maybe it was time to start making some choices for yourself instead of worrying what your parents told you or what your peers thought or what to do to keep your boyfriend semi-happy.
So, you started to consider what exactly it was that you wanted. And that proved to be more challenging than you anticipated, which probably would have sounded extremely pathetic if you had said it to any of the people sitting next to you.
Did you like figure skating? Of course, it was your idea after all. What you didn’t like was the pressure from your mother to train and become an Olympian, a feat that was never your intention when you took up the sport at six years old. Besides, you told her, you were way past the age for trials, you’d never get in (or, at least, that’s what you told her, because how the hell would you know whether or not there was a cut off age).
Did you like your friends? You thought so - you’d known them virtually your entire life, so you never questioned your relationship with them. But proximity didn’t necessarily go hand-in-hand with likeability. Maybe some of them you actually liked, but the rest? No, they were just around because they always had been.
Did you like your relationship before Duncan broke up with you? No, probably not. Of course, your opinion of him and that entire relationship was soured now, but even at the time, you were probably just going through the motions, doing things that couples do without any real heart in it.
So… What did you want? What did you actually like?
It was jarring to realize that your entire life had been dictated and finely tuned for you from the moment you were born, that even the things you wanted had been molded into new shapes by your parents or your peers or your teachers.
Once you realized how little of your life was in your own hands, you couldn’t get it out of your head. You always saw yourself as someone who was in control, as someone who couldn’t be told shit. And yet, you came to realize that that was far from the truth. It was as if suddenly everything about your life was something you hated. You hated your classes, you hated your friends, you hated running in the same circle as your ex, you hated all your obligations. Through the first few weeks of senior year, all you felt was frustration, disinterest, and absolute boredom with everything around you. Something had to change. And during the bullshit student council meeting, you became determined to make it happen.
So, over the course of that boring as all hell meeting, you tried to figure out what you wanted, and how you were going to get it. You set a goal for yourself, silly but helpful considering the structure you were so accustomed to: you’d set your plan in motion on your birthday. New year, new you, right?
Once you gave yourself that deadline, you then had to think about what exactly you were trying to accomplish - yes, you wanted to make some major changes, you wanted to, in a way, become a new person, but how were you going to do that?
You settled on four key things to keep in mind:
You wanted to piss off your parents big time - your dad barely acknowledged your existence and your mom coddled you, so actually upsetting them would be a feat unto itself. You had to become so awful that even your mother would stop making excuses for you.
You needed to drop your friends - the more you thought about all the people you grew up alongside, the more you realized that you weren’t particularly interested  in relationships with any of them. Whether you made new friends or not wasn’t a priority, in fact you kind of liked the idea of just being left alone.
You had to figure out what you actually enjoyed - outside of skating, you had no idea what really interested you, what you would like to do with your life and your free time. You figured it was time to do some self reflection and focus on finding things that you’d actually enjoy.
And, most importantly, you had to get back at your ex. Yeah, it was stupid to be motivated by a boy, but nothing would make you happier than seeing him worked up and frustrated. Your focus wasn’t on trying to win him back or anything like that - you wanted to piss him off, to exact some kind of revenge for making you look like an idiot when he broke up with you at a party that all your friends had attended.
How you were going to accomplish these, however, was yet to be determined. But they were a damn good starting point, and they got you motivated to become an absolute nuisance to everyone around.
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
The Friday following the student council meeting, you decided to first experiment with a little something, satiate a mild curiosity. To anyone else, it was probably the most mundane thing in the world, but to a high schooler who thought graduation was life or death, doing anything out of the ordinary felt nail-biting.
You were going to sit at a new lunch table.
You had just two days left until your birthday, until you’d officially set your plan in motion, so you still had a little more time to come up with something. So far, you couldn’t think of shit. You were already someone who was blunt and commanding and mean, whose thoughts and feelings were always on your face, so people were used to you being bossy and a little miserable - you couldn’t start being meaner or blunter, you just knew that wouldn’t be enough. Maybe you could start skipping class, maybe you could start flaking on friends, but somehow none of that felt like enough, like it wouldn’t make a statement. You had to really make an impression, to really set yourself up for a total ruination of your social status, you just hadn’t figured out how.
But a new lunch table was as good a starting point as any, right?
You chose a table at the far end of the lunchroom; customarily your group of friends, acquaintances, and ex sat centrally, surrounded by the jocks on one side and the academics on the other. The new table you chose was only occupied by two other people, a dorky little couple who looked at you funny when you sat as far from them as possible. In turn, you gave them an icy cold glare, prompting them to look away quickly, like you were a Medusa who could turn them to stone.
Your stupid little lunchroom plan was a bust, though. Five minutes into your peaceful lunch, your two closest friends, Amelia and Janet found you, each looking perplexed and put-off by your seat of choice. They looked around before lowering into the seats around you, their expression full of something akin to disgust, as if sitting at a different table was that offensive.
“What are we doing over here?” Amelia asked judgmentally, eyeing the couple at the opposite end of the table. Across the lunchroom, a few people (including Duncan) from your usual lunch table looked at you funny, “It’s like we’re exiled or something.”
So dramatic, you thought while staring harshly at her.
“Change of scenery.” You answered plainly, stabbing at the food in front of you. Amelia hummed in acknowledgement, but still made it quite clear that she didn’t agree with the decision.
“What, does this have something to do with Duncan?” She jabbed, receiving another nasty look from you, “So, he’s a jerk? Get over it.”
You should’ve known this idea was too simple to work. Of course they’d just follow you like the lemmings that they were, just as unable to make their own decisions as you were. Yeah, you definitely needed to try something bigger to scare them off.
Briefly, you thought that you could maybe tell them, just say point blank, “Amelia, Janet, I hate being around you and this friendship is done.” But, again, you figured that wouldn’t be good enough, that they’d laugh at your mean sense of humor even if you reiterated yourself. In this crowd, being mean was never enough to make your point, because all of you were nasty, not only to each other but to virtually everyone you met.
And despite your well-known attitude problem, you still cared about Amelia and Janet, flaws and all. These were the girls that you’d known since you were five years old, of course you worried about their feelings at least a little bit - nearly 13 years of friendship would do that to anyone. Guess you had more of a heart than you gave yourself credit for.
You definitely needed a foolproof plan to get out of this friendship, this social circle, this popular bubble that you’d always been trapped in. The friendship had to end without you saying so. You had to push them out until they finally gave up on you. Make it seem like it was their idea, that would definitely work on them.
As you schemed, Amelia and Janet chatted around you. Various acquaintances stopped by the table, all with the same question: what the hell were you guys doing sitting all the way out here? Even Duncan was amongst those that asked, trying to ignore the way you glared daggers at him. Amelia and Janet gave various responses, all of which put blame on you as if this simple little decision meant their utter ruination.
As Duncan was preparing to walk back to your usual lunch table, a commotion rose out in the hallway, the echo of rapid footfall drifting in through the doors. Multiple heads turned to face the cafeteria doors with curiosity, some people peeked out into the hall to check what the yelling was about, scurrying back to their friends to report what they’d seen. You, Amelia, Janet, and Duncan all waited silently, sharing raised brows and curious looks.
Not even a minute later, Eddie freaking Munson came crashing into the lunchroom, a look of total glee on his face as he cackled, not even remotely fazed by all the eyes on him. As he tumbled through the cafeteria doors, you jumped a little at the burst of sound. Eddie’s disruption turned everyone’s heads now, the lunchroom silent in shock and loathing as the resident outcast ran between tables, heading for the set of doors at the opposite end of the room. Your gaze was locked on the shit disturber as he blew past your table, carelessly running into Duncan in the process, but even that collision didn’t slow him down. Duncan yelled at him, but Eddie was focused on one goal, and if this were a cartoon you definitely would have seen dust kick up behind him from how quickly he was moving.
Not too far behind was Coach Miller, a look of absolute rage marring his puffy red face as he pursued Eddie. It didn’t even seem to cross his mind that he was making a fool of himself in front of the entire student body - his only focus was stopping the offender of whatever shenanigans currently pissed him off.
Your gaze turned back to the excited Eddie, an undeniable curiosity rising in you - what the hell did he do to piss off Coach Miller this bad? Sure, the coach was always pretty damn temperamental, but you couldn’t recall ever seeing him look quite this upset before.
Eddie paused at the cafeteria doors to turn and pull a mocking face at the coach before darting from the room, as if nothing in the world could touch him and he was unstoppable.
As Coach Miller disappeared after Eddie and students returned to their usual conversations, albeit with an air of awkwardness, you stared at the cafeteria doors thoughtfully.
That’s when an idea began to form.
You needed to take a page out of Eddie Munson’s book. If anyone in this school knew how to be a thorn in everyone’s side, it was him. So, you spent the remainder of your lunch brainstorming, trying to figure out how to channel even a sliver of Eddie’s energy; you only chimed into the conversation when someone spoke to you directly.
﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌﹌
In the middle of fifth period, you still weren’t quite sure what your game plan was, but you at least had a vague starting point. While your history teacher rambled on about some significant European war that you couldn’t begin to care about, you tapped your pencil as you thought about Eddie Munson (a sentence that very nearly grossed you out).
You’ve known about him since your freshman year - at the time, he was a year ahead of you, but since then he’d been held back. People always sneered when talking about him, as if Eddie was the most offensive thing they’d ever encountered, as if he was some kind of plague. He went against all social norms you’d learned up to that point, he was contradictory to everything you’d ever been taught about social conduct and likeability - he wore ratty clothes, listened to scary music, acted out in the most theatrical ways possible, and never seemed to give a shit what anyone thought.
You had never spoken to Eddie personally. Through the years you’d had a few classes together, including your math class this year, so you’ve witnessed some of his antics. But really, you knew nothing about the guy. Just the things that everyone else told you, and those things were nothing good. Whether or not Eddie was as bad as people said didn’t matter to you. His reputation was shit, and in this instance that’s exactly what you needed.
So, how were you going to ruin your senior year with the help of Eddie Munson? Well, at the very least, maybe you first had to have a conversation with him. It would be pretty stupid to walk up to him and go “hey, Munson, I know everyone here hates you, how about we chat and you make them hate me, too!”
Maybe you needed to find a way to hang out with him? Pretend to be friends long enough that the rest of the student body begins to ostracize you? With a little amused huff, an even worse thought crossed you: maybe you needed to pretend you were interested in Eddie Munson for a while, that was sure to piss just about everyone off. Especially Duncan.
But then the idea gave you pause.
You could not pretend to flirt with, or even date, Eddie fucking Munson. No chance in hell that would work. No way he would go for it, and no way you’d be able to tolerate him long enough to convince anyone that you were even remotely into him.
But… maybe?
Shit, what a stupid idea.
Or maybe it was a brilliant one.
You mulled it over a few minutes longer - if you were going to, somehow, convince Eddie Munson to pretend to date you, you needed to offer him something in exchange, that was obvious. You needed to give him a good reason to help you out, or this plan was never going to work. Its chances of success already seemed slim to none.
You had one idea, though you weren’t entirely certain if he’d go for it.
Your Uncle Tom was a cop, had been with the force your entire life - and you’d bet he’s probably had at least one run-in with Eddie. Maybe you’d tell Eddie that you could get cops to leave him alone, to stop watching him wearily whenever they were around. You couldn’t promise him too much, of course, but you knew at the very least that you could get your uncle to leave him alone. Or you could even take the fall here and there for whatever trouble Eddie inevitably lands himself in - what cop was stupid enough to arrest the niece of a cop and the daughter of a man who owned half of Hawkins?
It wasn’t foolproof, and you knew there were flaws to be found, but it just might work.
So, with your mind made up, you rip a scrap of paper from your notebook and scribble out a quick message:
Let’s make a deal. Sunday. You pick the time and place. Locker #436
You’d hoped that Eddie would be smart enough to realize that you wanted him to write you back, to drop his own stupid note in your locker so you could meet up and tell him your stupid, crazy idea. God, this better work.
You swiftly raise your hand in the air, giving a small impatient wave when your teacher didn’t acknowledge you right away, instead trying to focus on his lecture.
He rolled his eyes when he spotted your hand in the air, pointing at you and saying in an annoyed monotone, “What’s so important that you’re interrupting?”
Without any hesitation, you state bluntly, “Lady troubles.”
The teacher looks shocked by how plainly you stated it. But because it was you that said it and not someone else, your peers didn’t dare laugh, although a couple boys seemed to choke in surprise or amusement.
“Go, go…” Your teacher waved you off before continuing his lecture, wanting to forget the small interaction entirely.
You exited the room and roamed the halls confidently. Eddie’s locker wasn’t hard to miss - he was one of the students that decorated the metal with crude permanent marker sketches, and the school was too cheap to care about replacing or painting over it. As you approached Eddie’s locker, you checked around to make sure no one spotted you; it wasn’t as if you were committing a crime, but you didn’t need anyone wondering what you were up to in case this plan didn’t work.
So, you slipped the note into his locker, returned to class, and waited impatiently for the final bell of the day to ring, hoping that Eddie would actually stop by his locker and not just leave school without ever seeing your note.
When the end of the day came, it took everything in your power not to rush back to your own locker - just in case, you didn’t want him spotting you there. Why all the secrecy, you sure as hell didn’t know, but you nonetheless continued it.
So, you waited, stopping into the bathroom to check your makeup, walking with Amelia and Janet as they stopped at their own lockers. As the three of you exited the building and walked into the parking lot, you pretended to remember something, telling them that you needed to run back inside. You said your quick goodbyes and went back to wandering the halls, finally opening up your own locker.
It was stupid that your heart leapt when you saw a crudely torn piece of paper resting on top of some of your belongings.
You opened it quickly, eagerly reading the metalhead’s response:
Picnic table behind the football field, 4.
God, what were you getting yourself into.

High School
Carmy didn't like high school, but he liked you. When you asked him to speak to this year's graduating class about being a chef, how could he not say yes?
The Bear MasterList

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carmy was quiet and shy; he didn’t do great in school but managed. If it weren’t for Mikey, he wouldn’t have left the house much. On the other hand, you were the classic popular girl- beauty, brains, prom queen, student council president, and, of course, way out of his league.
He couldn't believe it when you’d asked him to speak at your high school career fair. It had been years since he’d been in Chicago, but Carmy assumed you’d moved on to bigger ponds by now, so to hear you were president of the alum board was a surprise.
“Okay, next up, we have Carmen Berzatto, part of our 2009 graduating class. He is one of the youngest chefs to win a James Beard Award, owns two restaurants here in Chicago, and is a three Michelin star chef. Everyone welcome Carmen!” you happily introduced. Carmy swallowed, feeling awkward with so much attention on him. As the two of you passed by each other, you couldn’t help but notice how handsome he was. As you sat down, another alumni board member whispered, “He got so cute…” to you. You bit your lip to suppress the giggles. Tight white t-shirt, patchwork tattoos, and disheveled curls… you’d always thought Carmy was cute in a ‘shy guy’ way, but wow… 33 looked good on him.
Carmy answered a few student questions, trying his best to avoid stuttering in front of everyone. You lost track of time as you listened to his velvety smooth voice as he explained some of the roles you’d see in a typical fine dining restaurant; you glanced at the time on your phone and realized he’d gone over his allotted time. You got up and stumbled slightly before getting up to the stage. Carmy noticed and said ‘thank you’ before handing off the mic.  “Okay, everyone, it's time to head out to the quad. Vice Principal Shore will be out there to direct you to our variety of college and vocational school booths, and if there are any alumni you’d like to speak to more, we’ll be out there too.”
You watched Carmy sneak out of the multipurpose room, “Hey, you guys, go ahead. I have to call Wolf’s dad.” you said to another alumni board member and watched as students exited the building. You walked outside and quickly picked up on the smell of cigarette smoke. “Carmy,” you giggled before following the scent behind the building.
“Still smokin’ ciggies behind the mpr Berzatto?” Carmy shook his head as he let out a puff of smoke in the opposite direction of you, “You here to bust me?” he asked, leaning against the fence. Your heart fluttered. Did he know how cool and sexy he looked in that moment?  You shook your head. “Thanks for coming, Carmy. It was nice seeing you.”. Carmy grinned. “You-uh, you wanna get a coffee sometime?” he swallowed, hoping not to come off as a loser. “You’re very handsome and successful, Carmy; you don’t want to date me.” “Why’s that?” Carmy asked as he ashed his cigarette before throwing it in the trash can. You stood there with your hands on your hips, awkwardly rolling on your heels, “Well, I have a kid and uh… an ex-husband. I’m a workaholic, and I spend a lot of time worrying about my kid.” Carmy nodded “I like kids, no ex-wife, also a workaholic…Let me take you out on one date?”

I have fluffy brainrot so y'all get a treat in what high school tropes I think fit the Escaped romances
Crow and Raven - Transfer student and hesitant assigned helper (heartbreak comes not from death but from him moving back across the world)
Ivan and Raven - Delinquent and tutor (Paloma is his niece rather than daughter, Michelle is still his bitchy ex)
Jean and Intern - Student council president and vice president (Bing and Boom are class representatives that stress Jean out)
Alfonso and Guest - Uptight Catholic boy and chill party girl (Alfonso having a heart attack as he sneaks out for the first time while Guest is like "lol just jump down you dork")
Jager and Schafer - Tenured professor and new teacher (not teacher and student, that's illegal ya nasties)
Benji and Future Wife - "Cutest Couple" superlative (no I will not elaborate)
Ash and Dennys - Detention buddies ("What are you in for this week?" "I set the chemistry lab on fire" "...nice")
Yes I do have more of these if y'all wanna see my ideas for GB, Redacted, or Nomad

HI ITS ME AGAIN, I 100% need to know rn if bela would kill for someone she loves (I need Essenza and Bela crumbs rn so im writing their story), i mean she has an enemy list probably, so why not a kill list?? /j
I love my wife 🥹🥹🥹
The Elder Council says... Yes! Probably. It's complicated. I don't think she'd murder anyone unless it's a last resort, and I don't think she'd find joy in it regardless of who it is. (This isn't RE8 Bela, after all!)
I feel like she'd have many ways of getting rid of a person, (blackmail, bribery, just straight up pulling the Student Council President card to get her way) and she'd have to exhaust all of it before even considering murder.

Oh man the TWST boys as slashers with a final girl reader…the possibilities are endless!
Jade and Floyd as a Ghostface duo who terrorize you and your group of friends, while hiding in plain sight. You think you managed to finally incapacitate the tweels, but out of nowhere another Ghostface shows up and kills your last reminding friend. He unmasks himself and it’s Azul, the student council President
Or Epel…whose farm you and your friends take refuge at after your van runs out of gas. His family takes pride in their prize apple orchard, and they find your friends’ obnoxious and boisterous airs to be annoying. But not you. Epel thinks you’re so sweet and gentle. You don’t make fun of his accent and don’t laugh at his stature like on of your stupid friends did. Epel thinks you’d be a perfect little farm wife, while your friends would serve as the perfect fertilizer for the orchard, a recipe that has been passed down through the family for ages.
Or…that strange horned man that shows up in your dreams. You have no idea who he is, how you were able to conjure him up in your imagination, but it seems he shows up every night to simply relish in your company and dance with you in the foggy dreamscape. Your friends dream of Malleus too…right before the dreams turn into nightmares, and the brutal death they experience in the dream somehow kills them in real life.
GHOSTFACE AZUL.......... AND HE'S THE STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT????????? WAAAAAAAA anon, this thought will be plaguing my mind FOREVER. AAAAAAA and maybe it's a school you go to that is full of the wealthy (so essentially NRC without the magic), so it absolutely rocks the student body when students start going missing and turning up dead in brutally efficient ways. How is it possible??? The affluent neighborhood is known to be safe. No one would ever suspect perfect Student Council President Azul Ashengrotto, who only ever has everyone's best interests in mind. >_< thinking about Zuzu killing out of revenge. He's got a list of all of the people who bullied him and you're on it, but as your friends start to die one by one he sees you soften (mostly out of fear) and suddenly you're not that same bully who tormented him all throughout his childhood. He's starting to get attached. orz
Slasher Epel... uwuuwaaaa it's too perfect. OTL Epel killing all of your friends and forcing you to be his farm wifey!!!!!!! You don't want to end up like your friends, used as fertilizer or chopped up and fed to the pigs. >_< learning to be a good wife for him by starting a family with him and slowly being conditioned into the domestic life. <3
And the Malleus idea!!!! :O *chef's kiss* he is a horror beyond comprehension, but to you he's just the soft, horned sweetheart who visits your dreams to waltz and chat with you. It seems as if anyone who gives you a hard time turns up dead, and your dreams keep getting sweeter and sweeter. You'll stay in the dream and never want to wake up, won't you? After all, isn't a life spent in bliss with your new horned friend far better than the scary reality that awaits you outside of your dreams? :) in choosing Malleus, you never wake up again.
May I offer slasher Cater in return? orz orz orz the duality of bright, bubbly uni student Cater versus the scary, silent slasher who's coming after you and your friends during your spring break trip to a beach house on some desolate strip of shore. >:D

Hi!, I saw your requests were open, If it’s okay maybe kirari’s secret girlfriend/wife coming to the school and everyone reacting to how similar or different they are?
Not So Different
Kirari Momobami x She/Her Reader
A/N: There is something special about a character who seems nice but can actually be pretty scary. I like it. Anyway, here you go, I hope you like it! Word Count: 2,513
The student population was abuzz after the student council president, Momobami Kirari, gracefully slid out of the glossy black car she arrived in every morning, but this time, with a catch. She held her hand back out to the open car door, and to the surprise of those who cared enough to pay attention, a hand emerged to grasp it.
Another girl slid out of the leather car seat behind Kirari and even after the chauffeur closed the door and returned to his seat to drive away, the girl’s hand remained with Kirari’s as they walked towards the school gates. Though she was wearing the school’s uniform, no one recognized the girl at all. A new student perhaps? And already in the claws of the president, poor thing.
“Good morning, President!” Sayaka greeted her at the front gate as she did every morning, then with less enthusiasm and a smidge of bitterness, she greeted the other girl as well, “Good morning, (Y/n). Welcome to Hyakkaou.”
“Thank you, Sayaka. Good to see you again.” (Y/n) smiled earnestly.
Of course Sayaka seemed to know what was going on. Though Kirari had a vexing mysteriousness about her, no one was more suited, nor dedicated enough to chip her way through than Sayaka. Though even she would say she only knew the tip of the iceberg when it came to Kirari. Although she did know a lot more than the average person, including the fact that Kirari had been betrothed to (Y/n) before either of them had even been born, something about dangerous business deals and complicated Bami Clan traditions for the family head.
Until recently, it was forbidden for the arranged couple to even be seen together in public until the Honebami family had disposed of all the threats. This would be the joining of two very important and influential families after all. Many contracts and a stupid amount of money was hedging on this union.
Now with all possible usurpers and hired guns sinking to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the couple was given more freedom to do as they pleased which Kirari promptly took advantage of by helping (Y/n) transfer to Hyakkaou.
“President, I have tea warming in the student council room should you like a cup before the morning meeting begins.”
Kirari hummed thoughtfully, tilting her head towards (Y/n), “Would you care to come for tea, my dear? At the very least it would be a good way to meet the rest of the council.”
“Sounds good to me!” Came the chipper response.
Most of the student council was already loitering about the room doing their own thing, but seeing a new face joining the President had piqued the interest of a few members.
“Ooo, who’s this, Kirari?” Runa asked around a mouthful of cherry hard candies. She had only barely glanced up before returning her eyes to the colorful screen in front of her.
“This is my fiancée, (Y/n). She will be joining us for the remainder of our last year. It would have been preferable if we could have shared more of our school days together, but such is life.”
“Better than nothing.” (Y/n) smiled, giving Kirari’s hand a quick squeeze.
“No way, fiancée?” Yumemi gasped. “When did this happen? I’ve been so out of the loop!”
“This union was predetermined by fate and the stars before we even existed.” Kirari colorfully explained, taking her seat at the front of the table, almost dragging (Y/n) down with her, but she declined to sit in Kirari’s lap. Kirari gave a low hum of disappointment.
“It was a high stakes arranged marriage.” (Y/n) corrected. “It wasn’t safe for us to be in public together until recently. For a time, the less people who knew about it, the better.”
“Oh, okay. I know a thing or two about paparazzi myself,” Yumemi flipped her hair over her shoulder, “They just gobble relationship gossip up.”
It was a little more involved than paparazzi, but neither Kirari nor (Y/n) cared enough to get into it.
“Well, it’s good to be meeting you now.” Yuriko chimed in, fidgeting a bit nervously in her seat, “Will you be joining the council?”
“Wouldn’t that be interesting.” Kirari spoke first, “Although… there aren’t any seats open, are there? Not now that I let Sumeragi in due to her father’s generous contributions. Would you give up your spot, Yuriko?”
Yuriko flinched. Why had she opened her mouth at all?! She couldn’t lose her place on the council! Her lip wobbled and she tried to speak, but fortunately, (Y/n) saved her.
“Don’t be mean, Kirari,” she gave Yuriko a reassuring look, “Don’t worry, student government isn’t my thing.”
“Oh…” Yuriko visibly relaxed in her seat, making Runa and Midari laughed.
“I’ll just come by to hang out. You guys can just pretend I’m not even here.”
“Already on it.” Kaede grumbled, clacking away at his laptop.
“Then perhaps keep your mouth closed, Manyuda. If that is truly your intent.” Kirari warned, eyeing the treasurer over the rim of her tea cup.
“Spooky, Prez!” Midari grinned, “I’ve never seen your puffy sleeves get ruffled so easily before.”
“Let’s all just simmer down.” (Y/n) took the seat between Kirari and Ririka, resting a hand on Kirari’s thigh. Kirari’s demeanor returned to normal with a single lazy blink. (Y/n) turned her attention to Ririka next.
Though Kirari had explained to her that Ririka was supposed to be the mysterious vice president until the proper time, whatever that meant, she still wanted acknowledge her soon to be sister-in-law anyway.
“Good morning.” She greeted with a quick wink.
Ririka smiled beneath her mask and gave a nod in return. Shortly after, Itsuki came running in just before the meeting was set to start. Frazzled, the girl looked for an extra chair. (Y/n) offered hers up.
“I should look around the school and find my classroom anyway.” She told Kirari, “Good luck with your schemes!”
“Schemes,” Kirari smiled, amused, “Really now?”
“Yes, schemes.” (Y/n) affirmed. She wasn’t blind to this whole house pet racket Kirari had going on, but growing up in the families that they did, she hardly batted an eye. “See you in class.”
Because of course Kirari made sure they would be in the same third year Hana class. Though Kirari would have rather her stay to help ease the boredom the meeting would surely bring, she let (Y/n) go explore.
“Are you sure you should let her just wander around? She is new…” Yuriko tentatively spoke up against her better judgment.
“Yeah, wouldn’t that be something if your girlfriend became a house pet while your back was turned?” Midari cackled and leaned back in her chair. “A nice girl like that will be sniffed out and ripped apart in no time.”
Kirari giggled resting her knuckles beneath her chin. Looking at her in just the right light, one would see a wild glint in those arctic ice eyes.
“Do you think so?” She asked.
***
“Yumeko, it was just a stupid rumor. You look like an idiot!” Mary hissed, pulling Yumeko away from the stairwell wall she was bent over, looking down for a sign of the president and her mysterious guest.
“Oh, it’s no rumor, Mary. It is one hundred percent factual that Kirari and her betrothed were recently given the green light to be in public together. It was such a big secret, that many of the family branches didn’t even know about it! Knowing Kirari, I would bet that with the restrictions lifted, she enrolled her fiancée to our school.”
“And what of it? Why do you care?” Mary crossed her arms, back stiff, annoyed that she had to follow Yumeko around all morning.
“It’s simple,” Mary swore she saw a glint of red in Yumeko’s eyes, “I want to gamble with her!”
“That’s so dumb,” Mary scoffed, but then, she reconsidered.
Actually, this could be good… If they could win a high stakes gamble against Kirari’s fiancée and make a house pet of her… that would surely get a rise out of the aloof tyrant masquerading as a student council president, right?
“You know what, count me in.”
“Yay, Mary!”
“Don’t touch me!”
“I could have sworn it was supposed to be on this floor… oh dear.”
Mary and Yumeko paused their little scuffle to stare at the girl who just passed them by. The way she checked every room placard as she walked cemented the fact that she just had to be new.
“Excuse me,” Yumeko wasted no time slipping in beside the girl, “are you lost?”
“Yes,” the girl sighed, relieved at the prospect of a helping hand, “I’m looking for the third year Hana classroom. Could you help me?”
“That’ll be easy enough,” Mary chimed in, “We’ll take you there.”
“Thank you guys so much. I’m (Y/n) by the way.”
“I’m Yumeko and this is Mary, nice to meet you!”
They shared a bit of small talk as they climbed the stairs to the third floor. When they reached the correct classroom, (Y/n) thanked them both.
“Thank you both for the escort. I’d love to give you a favor in return sometime.”
“You may be able to fill that favor in right now, actually,” Yumeko circled, finally stopping behind (Y/n) to drape her arms over her shoulders in a loose hug, “You are Kirari’s fiancée, right?”
“Yup, that’s me,” she chuckled, slipping out of Yumeko’s arms, “feels weird to get to tell people that now. Anyway, what’s the favor?”
“Mary and I want to gamble with you!”
“A gamble, with me?”
“Yes,” Mary came to stand beside Yumeko, trapping (Y/n) between them and the wall, “gambling is a big part of how this school functions. But you probably know that given whose circles you run in.” Mary tried to keep the bitterness out of her voice. Though (Y/n) seemed nice on the surface, she was still betrothed to Kirari who was by far the worst person Mary knew. (Y/n) could be just as deranged.
“Wow,” (Y/n) audibly exhaled, “an invitation already. Well, when in Rome, as the saying goes. Game of choice and stakes?”
“You’ll really do it?” Yumeko was practically foaming at the mouth, but (Y/n) didn’t bat an eye.
“Well, I have a favor to repay, don’t I?”
“Why don’t we take this to the library then.” Mary suggested.
(Y/n) soon found herself being ushered away from the classroom she had been searching for and into a library study room turned gambling den. Yumeko gave her an excited smile.
“Why don’t you pick the game, (Y/n). Then we may discuss the stakes…”
***
Sayaka had only left the student council room for a moment and already she had heard the most disturbing rumor. Jabami Yumeko, demon, Antichrist, what have you, had slithered up to (Y/n) like the snake she was and proposed a gamble!
Now, Sayaka’s feelings on (Y/n) had been… not so good in the past when she had first discovered the arrangement, but the girl had wormed her way into her heart, giving her the more direct praise and validation that Kirari was so stingy with. It also probably helped that she introduced Sayaka to her current therapist who in turn hooked Sayaka up with some really top tier medication.
Needless to say, the moment she heard (Y/n) and Yumeko’s name in the same sentence, she was bursting back into the student council room and falling over herself to tell Kirari.
“Really now?” Kirari rose from her chair, an easy smile spread across her blue stained lips. “This meeting can be picked up at a later date. I hope they haven’t started yet.”
“Are you going to stop them, President?” Sayaka asked hopefully.
“Oh Sayaka, of course not. I wish to observe.”
“Nyahahaha!” Runa laughed, “Alright, my interest is piqued too. Let’s see how the new girl holds against Yumeko.”
“Yumekooo!” Midari wailed, “I gotta see too!”
A majority of the council was curious and chose to follow Kirari and Sayaka through the halls, students parting like the Red Sea when they saw them coming. A frightening sight to behold. They sauntered into the library, found the correct study room, and crowded inside. Seating around the table, Yumeko had a crazed excitement about her, Mary was looking pale, and (Y/n) had her back to the new arrivals.
“Saotome is involved too? Oh, what a treat.” Kirari observed, “You couldn’t have found a better pair to test your gambling mettle against. Having fun, darling?”
(Y/n) slowly turned in her seat to look back at the invading council members and all but Kirari shuddered under her gaze and chilling smile. Apparently, (Y/n) was a pretty good match for Kirari after all. Though she seemed like a normal, easy-going girl on the surface, she could actually be quite vicious.
“Oh yeah, I’m having a great time. Yumeko and Mary put up quite a fight, but I think they are at the end of their rope.”
And sure enough, when the cards were cast to the table, (Y/n)’s were the highest possible combination, knocking both Mary and Yumeko’s out of the game.
“No…” Mary whispered, clenching her fists.
“We lost!” Yumeko’s heart was pounding, excited to hear exactly what it was she would be losing.
Before the game began, each girl had written down what they would make the others wager. Now was the moment of truth, what had (Y/n) forced Mary and Yumeko to wager.
“What have we lost, (Y/n), show us! I can’t wait another second!” Yumeko begged.
“Okayyyy,” (Y/n) peeled up a corner of the paper agonizingly slow and flipped it over. Mary and Yumeko leaned in to read, finding that they both owed… absolutely nothing. “There it is. You’re welcome. Try to mess with me like that again however, and I may not be so forgiving.”
Mary fell back against her chair, to emotionally exhausted to even feel relieved, while Yumeko slumped into her chair in disappointment.
“Well, it’s been nice meeting you, but I should to get ready for class. Kirari,” (Y/n) turned to face her, looking much more unassuming than she had a few moments ago, “walk with me?”
“Always, but let’s go somewhere more exciting.”
The couple exited the study room together, leaving everyone behind in various states of shock.
“This is where we differ most. You could have taken them for all they had and more. I don’t know exactly what Yumeko was hoping for beyond a gamble, but Mary surely wanted to take everything from you.” Kirari pondered as they walked.
“I just don’t see the appeal. I’d feel bad taking from people who didn’t know what they were getting themselves into.”
“Ah, but they should have known. You are my fiancée after all.”
“I guess you have a point.“ (Y/n) shrugged.
The couple made their way to the roof of the school and took off in Kirari’s private helicopter while rumors that the student council president and her fiancée were not as different as they initially seemed, spread. Not when it came to their gambling prowess anyway.

Broken lovers. - Angel x Ronin.
"Well, well. Look who it is! The school's queen bee herself!"
His voice rang in Angel's ears as she entered the detention class, it was Maria's first ever detention, and she didn't even deserve it! That guy! He was trying to touch her friend, so she obviously stepped in and if words aren't working, then fists are. And now, she's here. Her phone in the teacher's hands, she could only sit there for another three hours and "rethink her behaviour".
"Oh shut up Beaufort."
Beaufort, the guy who spends more time in detention than any other student, sometimes he deserves it, sometimes he doesn't. He isn't a bad person, Angel thinks that he's just misunderstood but she isn't so willing to see for herself.
"Awh? What got Saint Maria so on the edge?"
He stood up when he saw her going towards a seat far away from his, he was in the mood to annoy someone, and someone who Ronin saw as a privileged girl with the silver spoon was perfect for that. He took the seat next to her and titled his head to the side when he saw how upset she looked.
"C'mon, spill your guts. What could the good girl have done to end up here with the school's filthy rot?"
Angel gave him the biggest side eye she had ever gave anyone, his "edgy buy" type of speech was giving her the ick, how could anyone speak like that and keep a straight face? But he wasn't wrong, she heard the teachers use worse names when they were talking about him, so to call himself filthy rot was almost a compliment. Maria sighed, maybe ranting to Ronin would let her nerves out? She couldn't record a new vlog with this anger boiling in her veins and burning her body alive.
"One of the basketball team assholes wasn't keeping his hands to himself when my friend was telling him to leave her alone, he wasn't listening so I had to use other means of explanation, He ended up with a broken nose and I ended up here." She paused and scoffed, her expression showing anger, irritation. "Fucking hell, he was the one harassing her, but I'm the one being punished? Men are so privileged!"
Ronin watched her outburst, smirk forming on his lips. Oh this is interesting. The school's little miss perfect punching someone? Ronin would never believe anyone if they told him so. He clicked his tongue and looked up at the ceiling.
"I hope his little pathetic ego was broken then. Because how could a big strong guy let a tiny little woman ever punch him?" He chuckled. "If you want your reputation to stay clean doll, I may throw in some punches for you."
He outstretched his hand to her. Angel looked at his hand, then at his face, and with a slight smile accepted his hand.
"Oh? You want to do the dirty work for me?"
She asked in her signature sweet tone.
"Wouldn't want school's favourite girl to get her hands dirty, now would we?"
Angel giggled in reply. What a funny guy, she thought to herself.
And that's how their friendship started.
They met up after school, mostly after Ronin left the detention, he really was there a lot. Their relationship was kept a secret, or so they thought it wasn't hard to notice the small smiles and glances, they should really learn how to keep things a secret. Ronin was intrigued with Maria, for someone who played the role of a saint, someone who's sweet like an angel, she was really blunt with him; swearing and ranting on the guys she has to deal with, shouting from rooftops whenever Ronin took her to one, kicking walls angrily. Her show of emotion was like a reward for Ronin, the stoic girl was raw with him, he could see her true self. Of course he didn't know everything, he didn't know about how hard she was pushing herself to work, how destructive her perfectionist nature was. But he held his secrets too, Maria wasn't aware of his grotesque, she didn't need to know that Ronin was living as someone else in the past, for now at least.
Ronin was sitting on the floor, Angel was sitting on the bed behind him, her hands in his hair. They spent time like this whenever Angel needed to talk about things that she never shared with anyone, be it an annoying asshole or a weird message from a creepy fan she received. Ronin let her play with his hair, make them into little braids or just brushing them with her fingers, it was a pleasant feeling. He didn't need to say anything, of course he wouldn't be himself if he didn't drop a comment in his style, but he knew that Maria didn't need comfort, she just wanted to be listened to, for someone to hear her.
"Ro… Why is this world built around men?"
She sighed, exhaustion heard in her voice. She was just telling him about how one of the guys from school tried to sneak into the girls' locker room, his argument for that was 'but I'm trans, you're not transphobic Maria right?' Fortunetely the teacher yelled at him and he didn't enter. But if only a man could stop another man from doing something like that, then how could women ever stay safe? Maria tried to bring it up with the headmaster but he just waved his hand dismissively and told her to leave the boys be.
Ronin titled his head back, the top of his head resting against Maria's knees.
"Dunno, wish I knew that too babe." He clicked his tongue. "This world is a fucking trashcan, people mixed up together, paper next to glass, brand new toy next to rotten food."
Angel giggled at his words.
"Again with the edgy bull Ro? Wow, maybe I should write that down and ask your literature teacher to hang these wonderful quotes up?"
She joked and leaned forward, her face hoovering above Ronin's. She felt so comfortable with him, he was the only guy who ever let her be herself with him, gave her this feeling of safety and freedom. Her heart was always beating louder whenever they were in close proximity, Ronin's casual flirting was making her face heat up, and he used it against her. That's when it hit her.
She likes him. She liked this asshole, this annoying bastard who never fails to support her.
Her face heated up when she realised that she was looking at Ronin's lips dangerously long.
"If you wanna kiss me, then do it. Show what a strong girl you are Maria."
Ronin whispered, his eyes locked into hers. This caused a shiver to run down her spine, why did he read her so well?
"Oh? So you want the queen bee to kiss you?"
She answered, her tone teasing after she got herself together.
"Hah, why not. I'll run her with my rot, make it her safe haven, filth will be like a warm home and I will be the centre of it."
"Oh shut up Beaufort."
The exact words she said on their first meeting, now she really made him shut up, with her lips against his.

Chaos Incarnates. - Misaki x Ronin
Misaki would never expect themselves to stand in front of their boyfriend's, Ronin Beaufort's door, breath heavy, tear stains on their cheeks.
They were just done with a phone call with their parents, they just came out as non binary and the only thing they heard in answer was the beeping sounds of the call ending. Their own parents didn't accept them, they blocked their number, blocked them anywhere they had them. Misaki felt so miserable, they just needed acceptance was it so much?
Ronin opened the door to his dorm, his roommate Luca was nowhere to be seen, probably trying to get Feli's attention again. Ronin looked down at his partner, seeing them in that state was definitely not ideal and somehow he didn't need to ask to guess what happened. After all they were happily telling him about calling her parents just yesterday. This image was the exact opposite to how they usually looked, Misaki was usually covered in paint, haired messed, pencils and brushes somewhere in their pockets because they forgot to put them away and a big smile on their face, never leaving.
Ronin and Misaki were the schools chaotic duo, leaving them alone for five minutes would probably result in the school setting on fire. Once they were put together in detention and the blackboard fell to the floor because Misaki tried to show Ronin that they could climb on it, they in fact did… and ended up with a twisted ankle.
But this Misaki was different, they were in pieces, broken by their parents' reaction, by how they couldn't even be told it to their face because they're in a boarding school in the USA and their parents are in Japan, on the other side on the world. They just wanted to hear it, see the reaction, anything but just see that their messages couldn't be delivered.
"Ronin… I… I fucked up."
They sniffed and clung onto him, their arms wrapping around him as they poured their heart out, letting every emotion leave their body. Ronin pulled them into his dorms, kicking the doors close and helping them sit down on his bed. They didn't let go, no, they held onto him like he's their only life line now.
"Misaki, breath in and out."
He said, cradling them and rubbing their back with his hand. They were practically choking on their tears, so breathing was really needed now.
Slowly they calmed down, still sobbing into Ronin's chest.
"I can't fucking believe this… Not only did I probably fail my math exam I also lost my parents util they'll need me for something again."
They sniffed, looking up at Ronin.
"This sucks so much, and hurts… even more than that."
Ronin cupped their face with his hand and kissed their forehead.
"Hey, I'm a professional in losing parents, you're not so alone here."
He said, his tone light, but worry still present in his gaze.
"You're such an asshole."
They mumbled and elbowed him.
"That's what you love about me, my chaotic partner."
"More like partner in crime."
They snorted out.
"Yeah same shit, go to sleep, or you won't make it for that art competition or whatever that was."

"You want to kiss me so bad, it makes you look stupid." V x Ronin
Valentin entered the student council, his gaze falling at the guy sitting in his chair, his clothes dark, spiky, screaming trouble from miles away. Ronin Beaufort. The vile of his existence, the sole school's reputation destroyer and the biggest troublemaker V has ever met. His grin made Valentin want to punch him, but he had to be better than that. Stay calm, don't give in into his provocation. That's what he was telling himself, making sure to remember that Ronin just wanted to rile him up, provoke him.
"So, you're here again Beaufort."
He said and tossed the file of Ronin's documents onto the desk, not even commenting on the seat Ronin chose to wait for him in.
"Awh, we both know how much you missed me, you just love seeing my face dontcha?"
Valentin's eye twitched when he heard that, oh how he wanted to wipe that smirk off of Ronin's face, see him apologise for all he did and get punished, unfortunately he could only wish for it now, but maybe someday in the future he will be the one making sure that Ronin ends up in jail if he becomes a criminal how he's destined to.
"Just fill the report Beaufort, write the usual lie and leave me alone."
He crossed his arms over his chest, a long sigh leaving his lips. Ronin's presence alone was exhausting to V, his loud and vile behaviour were enough to suck out all off Valentin's energy.
"You want to kiss me so bad, it makes you look stupid."
Ronin's words caused Valentin to back away from the desk he was standing by.
"What sort of nonsense are you spewing?"
The warmness on his face was making him feel embarrassed. Great, now that asshole will have a new reason to make his life miserable, how mortifyingly thrilling. He cough, trying to turn the delinquent's attention away from his word's affects on himself.
"Just get the hell out Beaufort, and pray that I won't see you here again."
He said and watched Ronin stand up and walk around the desk to stand in front of him.
"Yeah, yeah, you say the same bullshit every time I'm here." He chuckled and pushed one of V's braids to the side, earning himself a scowl. "See you soon goody two shoes."
The next few days were terrible for Valentin, Ronin was getting himself in even more trouble, ending up in the student council's room even more than before. And the worst part? He was flirting with V, trying to make him flustered and always getting the result he wanted. Valentin was gritting his teeth, trying to appear calm and collected. Of course Ronin saw through that, it was impossible for a person like Valentin to hide his feelings, that's why it was so entertaining for Ronin, just watching the ever so calm and helping Valentin be so angry that he wants to punch him? Oh that was the best thing, the satisfaction was indescribable.
"Oh V, V, poor little V. Come on, we both know you want to feel my lips on yours."
Ronin said when V was giving him another scolding for 'saying nonsense', he would be lying if he said that V wasn't attractive, oh he was. And it made it all even better for Ronin, seeing the burning fire in V's eyes, even if that fire was hate, it didn't matter. What mattered was that it was all meant for him, he was the only one who could get these reactions out of Valentin and he loved it.
"You're delusional."
Valentin said, his eyes never leaving Ronin, even when he stood inches away from him, his body too close to his. That proximity made his face heat up.
"You want me, you know you want me. You want to see if I'm not right, you want to feel my lips and know that you are correct about hating me."
He whispered. Apparently it was enough for Valentin, he really did close the small gap between them, catching Ronin's lips in a kiss. Oh he's terrible, Ronin thought to himself and barely kept his smirk back, he held Valentin by the back of his head, not letting him break the kiss. Ronin was about to give him the best kissing experience of his life.
That kiss was heated, Ronin puling on Valentin's lower lip to slip his tongue into his mouth. V desperately trying to have the upper hand but Ronin wasn't going to give up. He kept Valentin blocked between himself and the desk.
Finally they had to pause, panting heavily, a thick streak silva being the only proof of what just happened.
"Hah, you really did want that kiss, didn't you pretty prince?"

To help a lost cause. - Misaki x V
Per usual Valentin was walking around the library, looking for a new book to find, but instead of a book he found a student. Crying in a corner with a paper next to them, it was a test paper marked '5/80'. Valentin winced seeing that, of course he knew that many students were failing, but he never saw any that reacted this badly. He felt like he should try to do something to help them out. He crouched down next to the student and tapped them gently on their shoulder.
"Um, excuse me.. uh do you need help?"
He asked awkwardly, talking to strangers in situations like these wasn't his strong suit, but he had to push through it. The student looked up at him, their eyes red and puffy from crying, their sweater wet from wiping tears in it, they were shaking. To put it simply, they were a mess.
"And can you make me magically better at maths?"
The question sounded offensive, but V understood that they felt a lot of things at once and could need someone to pour their frustrations onto.
"I can help you study actually. I'm already doing tutoring, I can tutor you too."
He said, the person shook their head.
"I'm short on money, I can barely cover the dorms and school fees."
They said and looked down at their feet, probably ashamed after admitting that.
"I'm not doing it for money, I want to help you…"
"My name is Misaki."
They said when Valentin paused not knowing how to call them.
"So, how about I help you with your studies Misaki?"
He asked.
Misaki thought about it, there was no real reason for them to refuse, he looked like someone academically smart and he offered his help for free… there would be only guilt for wasting his time, but he didn't look like he cared about his time.
"Mmm. alright."
They nodded their head and sniffed. Maybe they could really get better at math? Maybe their parents would be proud?
Misaki were meeting up at the library three times a week, it was supposed to be only one time in the original plan but after seeing how far behind Misaki is in their studies, Valentin decided on three times. The tutoring was a struggle, Misaki was easily distracted, gave up quickly and called themselves stupid for every little mistake. Valentin had to take a few ten minutes breaks to explain to Misaki that it really is okay to make mistakes and to let them get back into studying after that break. It actually worked some wonders, Misaki wasn't so stressed about math anymore, they got slightly better marks, but they insisted on having the tutoring until their midterm exam, afraid of failing it without Valentin's help.
"Vvvv I don't get this!"
Misaki whined after they couldn't get the task right.
"Show me."
He said and looked over their shoulder at what they wrote… well he wouldn't understand if he had to learn from their notes too.
"Try again, but this time slower and plan everything out Misaki, here-" He drawn a small box. "Do this part." He circled one of the beginning steps. "Section everything so you will be able to read it clearer."
Misaki nodded eagerly and got back to work. After a while a happy exclaim was heard.
"Yay! I got it right, thanks V, my hero!"
They chuckled and leaned it to hug him, laughing when he stopped them with his hand.
"Continue Misaki or you'll get distracted again."
Really, they were worse than a curious child when it came to getting distracted, any small noise could make them turn their attention somewhere else entirely. It was really hard to work around but once V got a hand of it, he could control Misaki's attention span and make sure that they're doing their work.
Finally, the big day of Misaki's midterm exam results arriving. Valentin was standing in front of the school, Misaki told him to wait there, and to bring a pack of tissues just in case. He was tapping his foot against the ground, looking for the short Asian in the crowd. Finally he saw them, running out with the biggest smile on their lips, they ran up to him and practically jumped on him. He caught them instinctively.
"Ohgodohgodohgodohgod! We did it V! I got the best grade in my class!"
They were beaming, proud and happy. It was a beautiful sight, especially after seeing them so anxious and burned out.
"Thank you so much for your help."
They said and looked into his eyes.
"I will repay your kindness, I swear."

Angelic muse. - Misaki x Angel
Angel was sitting on a chair in the art club's room, Misaki asked her to pose for them, and who was she to turn down her partner when they asked her to pose? They always made sure that she was comfortable, telling her to take breaks, giving her drinks or food. Sometimes Angel walked up to the canvas and looked at how far in the painting was.
"It's so beautiful Misaki."
She said and kissed Misaki's cheek.
"You're such a good painter love."
She smiled and hugged them, not caring about the paint that could get on her clothes or skin.
"Only because of my amazing model."
They replied with a cheeky grin.
"If you're tired we can wrap it up and go out for a walk."
"Yeah I could use a break…"
Angel sighed and Misaki immediately cupped her face with their paint stained hands, worry in their eyes and written all over their face.
"What happened? Are your 'fans' still acting like disgusting creeps?"
They asked, irritation joining in to the worry. Angel's so called 'fans' were truly disgusting, sending explicit 'fan art' or sending messages about how they would love to do things with her. They all made Misaki so angry, but Angel just told them that she accepted it.
"No… it's the guys from the football team, they were just eugh…"
That was enough for MIsaki to understand.
The football team were also really wonderful people, sexist assholes who tried to get girls to date them or have sex with them, Angel being the most commonly picked victim because she's just so hot and wants them. Sometimes Misaki steps in or sometimes they don't need to because the school's biggest delinquent is already dealing with the problem, while breaking his nose and beating him up. Misaki was glad that Angel had a friend like Ronin, at least they could be sure that their girl will be kept safe.
"Oh, so a walk and something sweet?"
Misaki asked and Angel answered with a short chuckle.
"Oh, you're such a sweetheart Misaki, thank you."
"Anything for you, my angel."
Angel blushed at the nickname.
"Who gave you the right to be this cute?"

Male Yandere Husband x Pregnant Female Stepford Wife Reader
(I don’t think you’ve done anything like this yet? So if not, think you can try?)
I want him to be a master manipulator, but really delusional in a loving/devoted sense. Believing that what he’s doing is for our best interest, as well as the baby’s. That includes confining us at home, always being with us 24/7 when we’re outside our home, etc. And generally getting us to be 100% dependent on him, (like we already weren’t heavily dependent on him before…)
Thank you!!! 💝
Yandere! Husband! Politician x Pregnant! Fem! Stepford! Wife! Reader
SORRY IT TOOK ME LONG TO GET THIS REQUEST DONE!
I had a hard time incorporating the yandere stuff with such a willing reader, but I tried LOL.
This one's only got two sections, since the both of you are married already, so it went straight to the yandere-ness.
But here ya go! Requests will be back on once more!
BTW, the master list is up now! It's my pinned post.
Yandere! Politician name: Maximus
Tumblr media
Maximus.
Just like his name, he was the greatest Politician out there. Whatever that means.
He's charming, intuitive, generous, kind, and compassionate.
Every election season, if you ask people who will they vote as a mayor or whatever position Maximus ran as, they'll say
"Isn't it obvious? Of course it's Maximus!"
So it didn't faze the people that he won whenever he ran.
As young as he is, he's always been active in the political sphere. From the student council, he's always been in the highest positions out there. Secretary, Vice President, and President.
Hell, if you ask him to do treasury, then he'll gladly accept and do it much better than the current treasurer or auditor. No specks, no crumbs, a clean liquidation sheet.
And when he graduated as the University president, local parties flocked towards him to invite him in their political party.
So many choices for the great Maximus.
After many days of researching and finding out the dirt, secrets, strengths, and weaknesses of each political party, he chose a party suited for the straight laced man.
That, and that you were there.
You were the unlisted assistant of your father, who was running as vice mayor, and is finding a mayor to be with.
This was perfect.
Maximus has always liked you.
Scratch that.
He always loved you.
You were the daughter of a well known governor inside your city. Pristine, shy, quiet, and always had a smile in your face, everyone back in school liked you. You were the epitome of etiquette and manners. If parents want somebody to compare to their child to belittle them, it would be you, little miss perfect.
Both of you live in a small city, almost a town size. So everyone knew each other, and you both lived in the same district.
it's just that he didn't fly under your radar from how busy he is.
Unlike your father, you never joined politics. You just sat there, studied, did some small knitting projects or sewing. Maybe even drawing if you felt like it.
At first, Maximus didn't really pay you any attention, until he heard your conversation with your friends.
"What? Seriously?"
"I am serious." Your melodious laugh echoed through the empty halls. It was already 5pm, and only a handful of students are left.
"But... That's so traditional lol."
"I know, but really. I just want to stay at home, serve my husband, take care of our kids... You know, the gist."
"But, you said you'll do Social work, Home eco, or culinary in Uni. So what's up with that?"
You just smiled at your friends until they said "oh..." in understanding.
Those courses can help develop your home rearing skills.
"I mean, sure. If you're happy with that." One of your friends finally broke the silence, followed by "meh's..." "eh..." and grunts of approval.
"Thank you for accepting for who I am." You smiled once more at them and they gave you an understanding grin.
Then and there, Maximus became curious about you.
Maximus also had a traditional way of thinking. Not all women, but his wife should just be staying pretty in his home, while taking care of their children...
He knew that only a small percentage of people would be open to that notion, and he was fine with it.
It did made him feel lonely sometimes. He's always dreamt of a domestic life, but the woman is always a faceless grey glob. He just can't see somebody in his life who would be willing to be like that.
So when he heard your conversation, that night in his dreams, he woke up sweating and confused when the faceless glob greeted him. But rather than the glob, it was you. Smiling with two children who looked like the exact perfect mix of the both of you.
"What the fuck..." He breathed out of his mouth, shaking his head.
Now, every night, his dreams were infiltrated with you.
And that started in highschool, all throughout University, up until you both graduated.
Your paths never crossed once more, since he's in AP classes most of the time, both of you were on different blocks in senior highschool despite having the same strand, and he chose Political Science in University while you did BS in Home Economics. But he always peeled his eyes for you. Dismissal, lunch, even breaks.
His friends teased him for having such a long time crush, and he just laughed and waved his hand.
And when the both of you graduated, he's about to confess his feelings when he saw you talking with a man, with eyes so wide and filled with adoration.
He felt his heart break.
He was numb, standing there and looking at you interact with the man who was smiling down at you with a ruffle on your hair.
He felt irrationally jealous.
Wait, him? Jealous?
He never felt jealous.
Did he?
He doesn't know anymore.
All he could see is you holding a bouquet of lilies and smelling it while the man hugged you.
He wants to rip the man limb from limb, desecrate his body, and feed it to the alligators.
Why is he wrapping his arms around you like that? He never heard you getting a boyfriend?
And he has a lot of connections to know.
Then he scoffed, like a breath of fresh air rushing into his lungs.
He needed a break.
When did he act like this? When did he become so...
He doesn't even know what it's called.
He's always been a good man. One that doesn't know anger, jealousy, possessiveness...
But what's this? Feelings that stirred inside him threatened to spill out.
So he ran away before it would get worse.
Years later, seeing your name in that certain partylist, he knew he had to join it. Just for a one sided closure he needed.
"Hello! You're Y/N right? You went to the same... School as me!" Maximus said, leaning his upper body to meet your face. His face soft, gentle, and mellow.
"O-oh! Hello sir Maximus! I knew we did, but I didn't know you knew me..." You shyly answered, your thumb brushing against the back of your other hand.
Maximus gulped.
He didn't realize how much he is missing you.
His eyes scanned towards your desk and his eyes widened a bit when he saw the man once more with you in a photo, but this time, with your father and mother.
So, with his trembling lips from the sudden hope bubbling inside him, he pointed.
"Is that your family?" He whispered and you nodded with a soft smile of adoration.
"Yes. I love them a lot." You said, caressing the photo. "That's my dad, mom, and my big brother."
"Oh! That's amazing. It's rare to see a tight knit family nowadays. I mean, families falling left and right, can't people just communicate and--" Maximus rambled, not even caring if the things he's saying is insensitive. He was just so happy that he actually has a chance to woo you.
"Is that so? I mean, my family had fallouts, and sometimes communication is not enough. Actions speak louder than words, of course." You said, carrying the conversation further.
Maximus grinned before taking a seat beside you and talking about deep, familial stuff. With him sprinkling hints of him being a traditional man.
You didn't miss the hints, evident from the blush forming on your cheeks and the shyness emanating from your words faltering.
And he found it adorable.
Once you both ran out of things to debate, he held your hand gently.
"Hey, y/n, what do you think about going on a date with me?"
The rest is history.
Tumblr media
"Darling, I'm home!" Maximus yelled once he got inside the mansion. "Today was a bit of a mess..."
Maximus heard an excited gasp and shuffling before he saw you waddling towards him, with a 7 month pregnant belly.
"Welcome home, darling." You greeted him with the smile he loves.
You took off his coat and hung it on the rack, before guiding him towards the kitchen.
"I helped cook today! The dinner for this night is lamb ch... Maximus?"
Maximus has a frown on his face, looking at you with such a disapproving look.
"Darling, why are you working in the kitchen?" He gently asked, caressing your belly. "You're pregnant, you need to rest always!"
You shrunk down a bit, sad.
"But I want to serve you again..."
Maximus' eyes softened at your words before giving you a loving kiss on your forehead.
"I know, darling. But that's what the chefs are for right? The servants too. I hired them to take care of you. Of us." He said, guiding you to the couch and gently sitting you down. "I don't want you getting tired. You're already being burdened by being pregnant and nurturing our child."
You nodded, easily swayed by his words.
"I know... Give me a kiss?" You asked, tilting your head up. He chuckled and gave you a soft peck.
"There. Now stay there, alright? We'll be eating here in the living room. You're already walking too much." Maximus said before hugging you and going to the kitchen.
Once he got to the kitchen, he grabbed a knife and threw it at the chef that was already cowering in the corner.
"Why did you let Y/N work?" He growled out, his eyes sharp, deadly, and authoritative.
Ever since you got married to Maximus, his protectiveness shot through the roof. He doesn't like it when he doesn't know where you are, he doesn't know when he doesn't know what you are doing, he doesn't like it if you talked to people he doesn't know personally.
He installed cameras, mics, and planted people around you that he knew he can scare into submission.
Especially now you're pregnant, he's making sure you always stayed beside him.
When did he become so twisted, from the nice, generous, and kind politician, to something like... Him?
"S-sir, the madam insisted on cooking for you!" The chef trembled out.
You were a rare type of woman who was so open to just being at home, and be the wife he needed to see every time he goes home.
He can't let you go.
Ever.
Maximus sneered and bit his nail, eyes sharp with thoughts.
"I need to drill in more thoughts into her pretty head..." Maximus grumbled.
You were already so willing just being inside the mansion, and so open to his manipulation that you weren't aware of.
He told you that you don't need to go out, that the world was a scary place for a wife like you. And that whenever you go out, you needed to be by his side.
He's already working so hard serving the city, and serving you is a bonus, and a privilege.
He's so occupied with taking care of the place both of you growing up, yet had the time, love, affection, and care to single you out and shower you with his attention. Why would you need to do anything other than serving him as his wife? That's blasphemy, and selfish.
He drilled that in your mind.
And you were so accepting of the fact too.
"If she insisted on helping in the kitchen once more, tell her 'what would sir think?', okay?" He spat out at the poor chef before suddenly smiling. "Don't tell anybody this, or else your family gets it."
He walked away with a triumphant smile and grabbed the food from the counter.
He walked towards you, and saw you scratching your cheek softly confused and scared, almost.
"What's wrong, darling?" Maximus asked, worry etched on his face as he sat down beside you.
"Oh, uh, I just..." You gave him your phone, which was ringing with the number of the exclusive nursery room designer he hired. "C-can you talk to him? I don't know what to do..."
Maximus shivered, seeing you so dependent on him.
Clueless on what to do, on what to say.
He smiled before taking the call for you, with his hand holding yours.
You didn't even start eating yet, waiting for his words to start.
His cute little wife can't even eat by herself.
How... perfect.
This was his perfect life.
With the perfect wife.
And he'll be damned if he didn't protect this.
If he didn't protect you.
So just be swayed with his words and put yourself in his palm.
He will make sure you are well taken care of, and that your pretty little brain will not hurt from thinking too much.
That's a promise.

Toki Reads Shonen Jump 2025, Issue #16: Yikes Week
Tumblr media
Roboco: At the Kawasaki Frontale soccer game, the opposing team sabotages the Frontale, causing them to be late, forcing Roboco and the gang to play as substitutes. Now I'm no soccer fan, but I don't think you can order food to be delivered to the field during play
Sakamoto: Uzuki's plan comes to fruition - by overtaking the JAA, he has essentially overtaken the Japanese government as well, coercing the Prime Minister to distribute one gun and three bullets to every Japanese citizen to do with as they please without repercussions. Well, that answers my question from last week - the JAA was a secret to the public, BUT was also effectively a shadow government - I feel like that should have come up earlier; the fact that Uzuki seems to just want to see what happens rather than orchestrating a specific outcome seems thematically appropriate with his multiple personalities, as it's effectively win-win for him - either everything ends in blood and proves him right, he engineers a mutually-assured-destruction scenario and creates a peaceful nation, OR everyone chooses to be peaceful and proves him wrong
EluSam: Morofuyu praises Tokiyuki for his growth, revealing that he knew that Tokiyuki was actually training with his wives and musing that Tokiyuki is the type to gain power from love; as Tokiyuki asks for him to come back as Fubuki, Morofuyu retorts that his strength comes from eating - specifically people, such as his own sister. Given the timing of this reveal, I wonder if perhaps this is Fubuki rather than Morofuyu painting himself as more of a villain so that Tokiyuki won't want him as an ally anymore and will instead be willing to kill him? Admittedly I don't know Fubuki's character well enough to draw any meaningful conclusions
Witch Watch: As the student council president hassles Fran to join the council, she accidentally hits Jekyll with a device that reverses all of his intended actions; as he becomes Hyde and goes berserk, the only way to stop him is to destroy the device, which Fran begs Rabuka to use her magic to do; Rabuka joins the student council. I honestly really like Rabuka, and the development of her and Fran's relationship is always a nice little treat for me; if Shinohara doesn't give me poly, he can at least give me yuri
Blue Box: Taiki and Chinatsu discuss how their lives might be different if they had made different life choices, but conclude that they made the right ones; Chinatsu tries to work up the nerve to kiss Taiki, but instead kisses him through his scarf, sending him into a blind panic, as teenagers are wont to do. Watching these two gives me such a nostalgic feeling, flashing me right back to falling in love with my wife in high school...a nice little reminder that even if I'm not where I necessarily want to be in life, I must have done something right to be with her to this day
Akane: Issho informs Akane which three stories she needs to master to even be able to attempt Shiguma's Art, and derides her hubris for thinking she can achieve what better performers than her have failed to do; Akane laughs in his face, refuting that she has no intention on limiting herself by letting past performers continue to be "better" than her; in reality, this is exactly what Issho wanted, to light a fire in Akane; Akane approaches Shomei for the first story, God of Death, but he refuse to teach it to her. I like the idea that Issho has just been playing Bad Cop as a long con to find someone with the guts to surpass him
Kill Blue: Noren's realization that she loves Juzo makes it difficult for her to interact with him, prompting Otohime to drag her out class for some girl talk, suggesting that she face her feelings head-on; Juzo approaches the student council to learn how fierce his competition is. For as sure as I am that Noren is going to turn out to be an adult, I am also sure that Otohime will NOT, so it's definitely going to be a scene when she realizes she's crushing on a middle-aged man; I really like Otohime, though, so I'm probably going to be upset to see the state that she gets left in
Nue: Believing that Gakuro will get stronger if he has a girlfriend, Nue calls a meeting for all of the girls of Squad 6 to reveal to them that Gakuro plans (under Nue's coercion) to confess to one of them at the upcoming festival, a prospect that absolutely no one objects to; Shiroha decides to take the initiative and confess first, though she refuses to hear Gakuro's response until all of the other girls have had a chance to do the same; simply hearing this confession awakens a new power in Gakuro. Don't you bait me, Kawae! Give this boy super forms specific to each girl! I may not recognize literally half of them, but if you make them poly you can bet I'm gonna commit them all to memory!
Kagurabachi: The truth of the Seitei War's conclusion is revealed - as a treaty was ready to be signed, the Sword Master insisted on the nuclear option, and Magatsuma responded with its True Realm, Malediction, to wipe out the entire population of the enemy island; we also learn that if the Sword Master dies, so too will all of the other Swordbearers. Not a surprising outcome, but the exact circumstance being genocidal rage rather than pure political greed was a bit unexpected; Samura's plan to let the Hishaku get all of the Enchanted Blades makes a lot more sense now that he has a guaranteed method of taking them all out in one go, but obviously things aren't going to go how he wants them to
Chojo: Another old "rival" of Chojo's, Mikage, appears and near-instantly falls in love with Ippongi. Oh, we're still on this plot point from last week? Is Ippongi's love life going to continue being the focus for a while, or just the occasional gag when Mikage is present?
Astro Royale: As Hibaru and Shikaba fight, Shikaba muses on his philosophy of stealing whatever he wants, be it power or love, which Hibaru seems to be fine with so long as Shikaba stays by his side. I can't say I understand Shikaba's motivations even a little bit, but at least his imagery is kinda cool
Kiyoshi: Hydrako tries to defeat Kiyoshi with various poisons, but he tanks all of them to steal the antidote for her other victims; though he manages to defeat her, Kiyoshi gets turned into a baby for his troubles. I kinda liked Hydrako, shame to see her go so soon, but her role was clearly to nerf Kiyoshi for the arc, so at least she wasn't just there to kill time
Hima-Ten: The girls talk about romance while in the bath, though none of them admit that they like Tenichi, except Mayu who clearly says it to rile up the rest of them; after getting some couch time with all of the girls during a horror movie, Tenichi and Himari are sent on a snack run, where Himari proclaims she can't root for Tenichi's success with Honoka anymore; while looking at some beautiful scenery with the group, Himari gives serious thought to her relationship with Tenichi. Ooh, you wanna be poly so bad, ooh!!! That couch scene was so good, I know you can do it!!!
Ichi: The Bakugami Magik first appeared in the land of Bakugami, then Kagami, ten years ago to the princess, Richia, as she grieved her mother's death amidst a national economic crisis; with its power to instill joy, Bakugami gave the people the will to go on and attracted desperate people from all of the world, making Kagami a bustling tourism hub; as this story and Bakugami's importance are being relayed to Desscaras and Kumugi, Ichi and Gokuraku burst in to attack Bakugami. ...Shoulda seen that comin'; with the introduction of Richia, I'm wondering if the ally the prophecy mentioned isn't actually referring to Gokuraku...obviously he'll still be one, but there might be more to it, like maybe the entire Kagami nation becoming an ally to Mantinel once everything gets cleared up? Probably not
Shinobi: With comms back up, Op reveals that Kawasemi was supposed to have died eight years ago, and his fighting style seems completely different; no longer alone, Yodaka gets a second wind, and manages to take out Kawasemi with a pincer attack from Hibari. I'm guessing this isn't Kawasemi and is just someone using his name for some reason, but it may also be that he got brainwashed or something and needed to switch up his fighting style as a side effect? The latter feels pretty convoluted, but I assume that this mystery is going to become a major plot point either way
Syd Craft: Syd and Souffle tail a suspect in a drug trafficking case, necessitating Souffle to quick-change through a bunch of outfits to maintain cover; when her superior sees her dressing up, he mocks her despite her saving someone on the job, prompting Syd to chastise him and compliment Souffle on her looks; Souffle starts dressing more girlishly as she always wanted, catching Syd's eye. Probably won't amount to much in the long term, but nice to see something akin to character development
Embers: Haitani and Takami manage to outscore the A- and B-Team members, netting Haitani his first-ever win; because of his poor sportsmanship and teamwork, Inunaki gets booted from the A-Team, a decision he tries to protest, but Shizuki stands her ground despite him getting physical. As Shizuki says, people who want to be the best will always come back after a loss, so it seems likely that Inanaki's character arc will see him learning to apply his skills in tandem with others and coming back at a crucial moment
Beethoven: As Beethoven begins coaching Yaso, suggesting things like "try drinking alcohol" or "seducing another man's wife" so he can better understand his esoteric metaphors, he tries to remember his mindset when composing Appassionata, only to have his memories locked by what appears to be a devil; however, Yaso's playing manages to unlock one memory, of a meeting with Beethoven's "Immortal Beloved," seemingly to the devil's chagrin. I can't say I was expecting to see demons in this manga, but I'm glad that the mechanism of Beethoven's reincarnation is being alluded to early so it will feel less out of nowhere when it gets an actual explanation down the line; it's also an interesting way to sidestep the unknown portions of Beethoven's life, disallowing him from simply reciting information that the author can't possibly know while also establishing that such holes exist for readers that are unfamiliar with Beethoven's history
I considered naming this issue after all of the girls talking about their love interests in Kill Blue, Nue and Hima-Ten, but with six heavily inked dramatic moments between the reveal of Uzuki's plan in Sakamoto Days, Morofuyu's declaration of cannibalism in Elusive Samurai, Issho's subterfuge in Akane-Banashi, the Sword Master's genocide in Kagurabachi, Shikaba continuing his cycle of abuse in Astro Royale, and the literal Devil's unexpected appearance in Star of Beethoven, all I can say is:
Tumblr media
Then there's Ichi publicly attacking Bakugami, Kiyoshi getting turned into a baby, Kawasemi possibly being a fake in Shinogi Undercover, Shizuki booting Inunaki from the team in Embers...maybe not as big of moments as the rest, but a lot of twists and turns to be had that also elicit a definitive yikes
This Week's Top 3:
Nue's Exorcist, surprisingly, for giving me a quality reaction image that I've been giggling about for literal days and also for suggesting that we might actually be going the poly route
Star of Beethoven for dropping a hint that both answers and asks more questions, while also fleshing out Beethoven himself
Hima-Ten for just being really dang cute this week, and giving Himari a moment of genuine honesty and introspection
Amazingly I passed over Ichi this week! I don't think I've done that since Undead Unluck ended, but it just wasn't that impressive of a chapter this week. It was good, certainly, but it was mostly exposition without actually revealing anything particularly noteworthy or furthering the plot in a way that was surprising
Kagurabachi similarly went in a predictable direction, though its presentation was definitely good enough to warrant being Top 3. I think it missed it because the dread of the Sword Master's mass murder just didn't resonate with me the way that Hima-Ten's moment of intimacy did
The reveal of Uzuki's plan in Sakamoto Days also sparked dread, and actually inspired me to think about it for the last few days, but I think the sheer number of "yikes" moments this week might actually be what's directing me towards the softer moments of the week; there's fewer of them, so they stand out more
Blue Box's cute moment was similar to Hima-Ten's, but I think the introspection on Himari's part was overall more interesting to me than Chinatsu's retrospection
Overall, this was another super strong week for me, and I think that the goal of this project is really starting to come to fruition! I'm feeling more motivated to revisit each series, even being prompted to reread older chapters that I don't remember, and coming up with issue titles helps me draw connections between the series within each week! This is the most engaged I've felt with the entire magazine in a long time, a feeling I was really worried I would lose after Undead Unluck's departure!
I'm even feeling more connected with the series that I'm not a particular fan of! I don't think I'll necessarily mourn them if/when they leave, but I'm glad that I'll be able to better enjoy them for the time that they're here

The wife of data privacy professor Xiaofeng Wang, who was fired from his tenured job at Indiana University, Bloomington (IU) the same day the couple’s houses were searched by the Federal Bureau of Investigation last month, said on Monday that she believes her family has been unfairly targeted by the US government and is the victim of what she described as “misplaced accusations of academic misconduct.”
“Our family is determined to fight, not only for ourselves, but for the broader research community who would be impacted if this type of allegation goes unchallenged,” Nianli Ma said.
This is the first time Ma has spoken publicly since the FBI searches occurred in late March. She appeared at a webinar hosted by the Asian American Scholar Forum (AASF), a nonprofit group formed in early 2021 to advocate for the rights and recognition of Asian American scholars. Ma worked as a library analyst at the university before she was also abruptly fired from IU days before the FBI searched two of the couple's homes, The Indiana Daily Student reported.
“I just can’t understand how the university, to which we dedicated two decades of our lives, could treat us like this, without even telling us why or going through due process, especially for my husband,” Ma said. “I’ve lost weight and have had difficulty sleeping. I feel trapped in a constant state of worry and sadness.”
Wang’s case has raised concerns among academics that a shuttered Department of Justice program called the China Initiative is being revived under the new Trump administration. The campaign, which was started during President Trump’s first term in office with the stated goal of combating economic espionage, was accused by critics of unfairly targeting Chinese-born researchers and other Asian-immigrant and Asian-American academic communities. The DOJ later abandoned the program under the Biden administration after it lost or withdrew a number of associated cases.
One of the most high-profile of them was the case of MIT professor Gang Chen, who was charged in 2021 under the China initiative for allegedly failing to disclose links to several Chinese institutions in grant applications. Chen also spoke at Monday’s webinar. The charges against him were dropped the following year after the disclosures were found not to be required by the federal government.
“Nianli’s story is heartbreaking. The images of the FBI raid of Nianli and Professor Xiaofeng Wang’s home brings chills to our spines,” Chen said. “It brings back the fear my family and many others went through under the China Initiative. Reading the news report about you, one can not stop asking if the China Initiative has in fact returned,” he said, speaking directly to Ma.
Brian Sun, a member of the AASF legal advisory council said at the webinar that there currently appears to be “no evidence that Xiaofeng’s case involves any kind of unlawful transfer of technology or anything that would implicate the kind of concerns that led to the founding of the China initiative.”
US representative Grace Meng of New York, who gave a keynote speech at the event, said she’s concerned about efforts by the current US presidential administration to reinstate the China Initiative, which “did nothing to meaningfully address national security concerns and instead created a deep chilling effect on research and scientific innovation, as well as ruining the lives and livelihoods of those who were falsely charged.”
Chris Bavender, a spokesperson for the FBI, declined to comment. Indiana University did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The school said in a previous statement that “at the direction of the FBI, Indiana University will not make any public comments regarding this investigation. In accordance with Indiana University practices, Indiana University will also not make any public comments regarding the status of this individual.”
WIRED first reported that IU had allegedly been probing whether for months he received unreported research funding from China. Indiana University contacted Wang in December to ask about a 2017-2018 grant from a Chinese source that allegedly listed Wang as a researcher, according to an unsigned statement seen by WIRED that appeared to be written by Purdue University professor Ninghui Li, a longtime collaborator of Wang.
The statement said that the author believed IU was concerned that Wang allegedly failed to properly disclose the funding to the university and in applications for US federal research grants. It also said that Wang had apparently recently accepted a position with a university in Singapore.
On March 28, IU terminated Wang’s job via an email sent by provost Rahul Shrivastav, which WIRED obtained and was first reported by The Indiana Daily Student. The email also said it was understood that Wang had recently accepted a position with a Singaporean university.
Wang is one of the best-known researchers in the field of privacy, data security, and biometric privacy. Over the years, he has received funding from a variety of federal sources, including the US National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and the US Army Research Office, according to a WIRED review of his academic publications.
Chen, the MIT professor, said that what happened to Wang is having broader impacts on the academic research community and could potentially deter scholars from working with international collaborators. “It is clear that such events, together with legislation and hostile rhetorics, are driving out our talents, deterring [researchers] from coming, and harming US competitiveness and national security,” he said.

Adam looked at his ring and his new wife next to him, Amber was a nice woman but she wasn’t his soulmate. His soulmate has long since passed away, and on that day he made a wrong call. His parents arranged this marriage to help him feel better, less lonely, but it wasn’t making him feel anything. But he couldn’t divorce Amber, he’d bring shame to his parents and wife. Before he knew it she gave birth to their son Ignis half dragon half jellyfish. He was an adorable baby, but guilt filled his soul every time he looked at him. He felt like he wasn’t allowed to love him.
So he kept to himself away from the two of them, he gave Amber the ownership of the company his father gave him. He couldn’t run it not when he could barely leave his room. Ignis did his best to get his father’s attention getting fantastic grades, joining tons of sports teams, becoming student council president, everything and anything he could think of. He had won tons of awards just to get any recognition but nothing. His mother was super proud of him, that was at least comforting to him. As he grew up he tried talking to Adam to try to build some sort of relationship, but Adam just cried and said he couldn’t. Not when he lost someone so important and made a bad decision in the past.
Ignis screamed at his father how he was heartless and cruel, how his mother deserved better, how he should just drop dead. Before storming out of the room to cry his father didn’t deserve to see him at his vulnerable. Soon he joined the company and started working that’s when he bumped into Tris, something about him enraged him. Maybe it’s how he looked as pathetic as his father, but there was something.
So he decided to target him especially after he found out more about him. Trying to whoo you was obvious choice to hurt him. And at first he didn’t care about you, it was just to hurt Tris, but before he knew he started to wonder when his feelings became real. How he fell for you without even realizing it.
When you came back from your sick days to yell at him about the fake photos he sent you, he looked at you with shock and horror.
“Wait they were fake?! I had gotten them from Juilie in accounting she didn’t have your number so she sent them to me since she knew I had it.”
Pulling out his phone he showed you the text message and you pause feeling even more confused and tossed around.
“Wait so you didn’t tamper with them? But why would she?”
“Well probably cause she likes Tris I mean we both know how she isn’t the friendliest person with most people expect Tris.”
“I guess..I haven’t really interacted with her.”
“I see, well you two are in different departments. Don’t worry I’ll handle her this is a serious breach in our policies. For her to send fake evidence to sabotage one of my most important workers, you. You just go ahead and take your break while I handle her.”
“I well..”
“Listen it’s just for your own safety. I don’t want her going bananas and blaming you. After all if she was so willing to lie to me to hurt you, I don’t want to think of what else she would do.”
“You’re right, thanks Ignis.”
“Of course, now run along I’ll text you when she’s gone.”
After you leave Ignis sighs with relief he’s glad he came up with a backup just in case, seeing as this plan is an obvious failure. Throwing some poor bystander under the bus was easy, especially if it meant keeping himself in your good graces. He’d do anything to keep that in tact. Looks like though he’ll have come up with a better plan. For now best to focus on firing Juilie like he said he would, he can’t disappoint his future spouse now.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay to be honest with you guys I am afraid.
wanna preface this upfront before I start smearing egg all over my face: damn near any news from SSMY HQ is good news because I respect the hell out of harusono shou for completely bewitching me for now over two years. the very regular very likely possibility of JUST getting news at midnight on january 1st JST about how both sasamiya and hirakagi will update this next beautiful year will still be music to my ears. because I seriously love these stories a fuckton. Okay?
but look I’m really scared for real.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the timing is too perfect to start with. I’m starting with this because my fear is multifaceted and We will be going over the other facets in good time. and also because it is silly. but there have been a nonzero amount of times where I am on the same wavelength as harusono sensei (ichinose posting -> translated extra of ichinose and his faceplanting into dorm managers chest, shiramiya posting -> You know., etc.) to a concerning degree and frankly another occurrence of this might push me into hiding. The timing of Next Year (JST) to prove me technically wrong while still being This Year (for meee) to prove me technically RIGHT might seriously send me into witness protection. you understand.
here’s the thing. beyond my being afflicted with visions and being psychically linked with harusono shou. right. We’re really really not delusional about hanzashiro. we’ve been over this before. the stuff is there. it’s there.
Tumblr media
the anthology . It is there. I’m not crazy and neither are you. Right. also fucking obviousl
Tumblr media
the Over 10,000 Words (probably lowball estimate by now) Of Unreleased Plot Relating To Hanzawa Masato are still unaccounted for.
I see this photo more than half of my family. youdon’t need to know how much I think about it
so all of that. right.
Why did harusono shou draw prev prez TWO!!!! times this year
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
counting his fuckass arm offscreen. This is two more times than we got since. when did the sasamiya first years novel come ou
since 2020. Okay!
Tumblr media
we have got to kill this guy. I’m being so serious.
anyway all that said here’s my penultimate thing I’m doing here. Honestly I’m really scared of hanzashiro becoming more visible to the masses because the standard understanding of romance doesn’t really graph onto their relationship in high school. I really like this and I want to see ten billion times more weird hanzashiro high school escapades INCLUDING nameless (to-be-named 🥺🤲?) asshole prev prez. but there might be more people who wanna see them kiss and I need all of those people In this theoretical scenario where harusono shou blesses ME in particular for all of my delusion all this time. to be patient. I’ve been patient they can also be patient It’ll be fun we’ll do it together
here’s the actual penultimate thing: I’m really really scared to be wrong. against all reason I went and got my hopes up and it will be a #bummer to be wrong. I’m giving you all permission to laugh at me in the event that I am wrong but I like to be level with you lot and I am very scared to be wrong. Okay?
the final thing is a list of things I want out of harusono shou’s Hanzawa to Tashiro:
tashiro is there
prev prez is there And he. gets a name Please
yashiro gets his flowers for being cute suspicious and Not unlike. am I allowed to say he acts like dorm head hanzawa masato’s wife If I’m not allowed to say that feel free to throw rocks at me
hope student council president is there and he shits himself every time masato is in a three meter radius of him
harusono shou indulging in having fun with our shared Beautiful princess with a disorder. (hanzawa masato)
okay I’m done now I think. I haven’t stopped kind of trembling since I checked the time earlier Aaand post

so imagine: we are let's say....the student council president or some really high position in the student council and scara is like the biggest delinquent and troublemaker of the school and would always do really troubling things and stuff so we would be the one that has to deal with him. the whole school always thinks of us as sworn enemies and stuff but little did they know behind close doors he is your lover and your breeding bitch. like the second you both are in your private office or somewhere like an empty class room he is already bent against a desk with your dick (or strap) thrusting in and out of him at such a harsh pace and you would go smtg like "take it slut. this is your punishment for acting like a brat" and all he does is nod and agree with you while you pound into his greedy slutty hole, overstimulating him (or edging him if you wanna make the punishment even better)
sometimes he would even get in trouble on purpose just for you to breed his pretty cunt unti it's all red and sore! HAH! what a whore. but he is my whore. anyways can I be known as 💣anon?
Scara is my little wife he’s so silly
Dragging him away from a bunch of students in a fight and as soon as you’re both out of sight you immediately start to pound his pussy
Pulling his tiny skirt off to watch his ass jiggle from all the thrusts, ripping the buttons off his top to see his little boobs bounce!!!
As an extra punishment, keep him under your desk for a whole day, choking on your cock while grinding on your foot heheehhe

Headcanons for NinaMaryJane? Their cute : ) @killerlittlerejects
Yay I love them :(( My sillies
SceneGothVaughn Headcanons -
(TW: Murder, Manipulation, Breakdown, Disassociation)
They all met in highschool in sophomore year. Jane and Mary were both in the student council together. Jane was the vice president and Mary was the secretary. Jane met Nina through Jeff and Liu.
At first, Nina was convinced she hated Mary when they first met in highschool due to Mary seeming to be everything Nina couldn't be. After they got to know each other though, they grew closer and realized they had more in common then they thought, and that they bonded on a lot of their struggles, like losing their parents and having anger issues.
Mary and Jane got married on a whim when they were both 18 in an abandoned church. Nobody was invited except Liu (who officiated the wedding).
Nina unsurprisingly fell for Mary first, but out of the two, she found Jane physically attractive first.
Between Mary and Jane, Jane fell first and fell harder. Between Mary and Nina, Nina fell first and hell harder. Between Nina and Jane, Nina fell first and Jane fell harder.
Jane was a bit reluctant to trust Nina, especially when she learned Nina's involvement with the incidents and how Nina killed Chris, but after slowly realizing Nina felt just as betrayed as she did, the two slowly bonded and grew closer.
Mary was much quicker to forgive Nina than Jane was. While she was at first very cautious around neon, Mary slowly started to relax a bit after a few months, and was very gentle and kind to her, especially as her and Liu both worked to help Nina unravel the manipulation Jeff put her through. After Mary learned that Nina had nothing to do with her dad's murder, she finally gave in and trusted her.
Nina realized she was in love with Jane after realizing how much she had started to worry about her and get anxious when she was away. At first, Nina was scared she was getting emotionally dependent on Jane, but after a bit, she realized it was because she was scared of something happening to the only people she had left anymore.
Jane realized she cared about Nina when she found herself comforting Nina through a breakdown. Nina was sobbing in her room from a dissociative episode and despite Liu trying his best to help her, Nina only relaxed when Jane held her for a minute. Jane didn't push Nina away until Nina fell asleep in her arms.
Mary realized the connection between Nina and Jane after Nina's breakdown and was the one to try to ease them together, especially after seeing the two become more and more attentive with each other and start having chemistry. They both were a bit confused at first, but Jane saw through it pretty quickly. She confronted Mary after that and the two decided to finally confess their true feelings to Nina and finally talk about it.
Jane and Mary had planned out an entire date with Nina to help confess their feelings to her and finally tell her the truth. The day started with a dinner they all made together, then a walk through Mary's garden, then stargazing, then a possible swim in the nearby pond, and then a final confession on Mary's porch. The night was planned out down to the tiniest detail, and was supposed to be extremely dramatic and perfect. Things got a bit messed up though as Mary spilled the "I love you" ten minutes after they sat down to eat. Jane was a bit disappointed they didn't get to say it together, but Nina was happier than ever and started sobbing happy tears. Liu found the three cuddling on the couch together the next morning after he came home from visiting the Refuge.
Currently, Jane and Mary are married, and Nina is dating both of them.
In most of Mary and Jane's wedding photos, Mary is always looking at the camera while Jane is looking lovingly at her new wife.
Despite Jane out looking for Jeff a lot, she always makes time for her partners, and usually brings her group to Mary’s house three times a week to be able to spend time together and rest.
Mary and Jane used to love going to fairs together, and have tons of pictures and souvenirs still all over Mary's house from the times they went.
Jesse, Jane's sister, has always loved Mary and Nina, and is incredibly supportive of Jane's relationship with the two. She is a bit upset since her and Jane hadn't been reunited before Jane and Mary's wedding, so Jesse wasn't able to be Jane's maid-of-honor, but she forgave Jane for it since she realized that the guests at the wedding were literally just the brides and Liu.
Liu approves of their relationship and doesn't at all really mind them all being together. He's honestly just happy to see them all happy, though he's still slightly cautious around Nina.
Jeff has always been surprisingly pretty supportive of Mary and Jane's relationship, especially in highschool. Even though they are trying to kill him, Jeff respects Mary because he feels she's good for Jane.
Nina loves dragging Mary and Jane to come dance with her, and will blast music while slow dancing around their kitchen.
Nina is the least serious out of the relationship, and Mary and Jane often rely on her a lot unconsciously to lighten up situations.
Nina loves to do both girls' hair and makeup and Mary always loves helping her test out new techniques and styles.
Nina is oftentimes the little spoon between the three, but sometimes if Jane is having a particularly bad day, she'll be the little spoon instead.
Nina loves being held bridal style but hates to admit it. Jane and Mary love holding her though so they sometimes will randomly pick her up when she seems down.
Nina loves cuddles, Mary likes hugs, and Jane likes hand holding.
Nina tells her girlfriends "I love you" every time she leaves a room, every time she sees them in passing, every night before bed, every time she enters a room, every time they do something sweet. Unlike Jane, Nina is very vocal when it comes to affection and telling those she loves that she loves them.
Nina loves sitting in Jane's lap, and will often take selfies sitting with her.
Jane loves kissing her partners and always leaves Nina's face covered in black lipstick smudges.
Nina loves burying his face in Mary's curls when they cuddle and hides her face in her shoulder when she's flustered or giggly.
Jane and Mary always find themselves with glitter on their faces despite them never having glitter as part of their makeup. This is because Nina always has glitter on her outfit or makeup and she always gets it on them when she kisses or cuddles them.
All three are pretty protective of each other, and have high respect for each other's strengths. Nina tends to be the most confrontational of the three, and the most feisty, while Mary and Jane are better at subtly intimidating people.
Jane is the tallest one while Nina is the shortest.
Nina, Mary, and Jane all have matching tattoos of a small heart on each of their hands.
Mary's engagement ring was clear with little forget-me-nots and golden flakes as well as little slips of paper with her name on them. It's very delicate, so Mary keeps it in a box in her house. Jane made it herself using resin based on what Mary taught her.
Mary and Jane's wedding bands are golden bands. Those ones were bought by Jane (though Mary chose the material for them). Jane often collects bouquets for Mary and even studies flower language just for her.
Jane calls Mary "love", "darling", and "beloved", and calls Nina "baby", sweetheart", "dimples", and "hon".
Nina calls Mary "sunshine", "babe", "honey bunny", and "pumpkin", and calls Jane "baby", "babes", "beautiful", and "pretty lady".
Mary calls Jane "my queen", "darling", "pudding", and "lovely", and calls Nina "dear", "honey", and "sweetpea".
Nina loves to steal her partners' clothes a lot, often leading to her wearing Jane's dresses and jackets, or Mary's cardigans or slippers.
Jane and Mary are the black cat and white cat dynamic, as well as the sun and moon dynamic.
